SAVANNAH - Logan Columbus Beasley, 89, died Tuesday, November 13, 2007 in Savannah. Mr. Beasley was born in Stillson, GA on May 22, 1918, the son of the late Burney G. and Katie E. Beasley. He was a graduate of Stillson High School where he played basketball. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a devout Christian of Immanuel Baptist Church and a former member of Morningside Baptist Church. Mr. Beasley was a faithful husband to his wife of 62 years, Rudine M. Beasley, who preceded him in death. Since her passing in 2002 he enjoyed a love for ballroom dancing and spending many lovely nights with his family for dinner. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Sharyn Beasley. He is survived by and was the proud father of his children, Wilton Logan Beasley and Janet B. Fields and her husband Billy, all of Savannah; grandchildren, Kevin W. Beasley, David L. Beasley, Shaun W. Fields, Brian S. Fields and Heather S. Fields; sister, Frances Clemmons and dear friend, Martha Beasley. Mr. Beasley was a strong and loving man who always reminded those who knew him to be true to themselves, a virtue which he himself practiced. Visitation: 6:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. Funeral Service: 10:00 A.M. Friday at Immanuel Baptist Church with burial following at Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park.
