Barbara Ellen Harper age 67 of Robersonville, N.C passed away on Wednesday June 23, 2021 at her home.
Barbara was born the third of five children to Reginald and Marian Shields (deceased) in Newark, NJ. She graduated Shabazz High School in Newark, NJ in 1971. She went to Tougaloo College in Mississippi and joined the Air Force shortly after. During her time in the military she spent her tours in Turkey, England and Louisiana.
Barbara met her late husband William Ernest Harper while in the Air Force. Their family began to grow one year after marriage when they welcomed their son WIlliam R. Harper Sr. Seven years later they welcomed their daughter Samantha N. Stewart.
Barbara cherished her family and friends she devoted her time to bringing joy to others. She loved to travel solo and with family. She is known for her loving nature and making everyone she meet feel like family. Barbara had a green thumb and a creative knack for crafting anything from prom dresses to teddy bears.
Barbara is predeceased by her parents Reginald and Marian Shields siblings Brenda Shields as well as her husband WIlliam E. Harper. She is survived by her 2 children and their spouses WIlliam R. Harper Sr (Rachel Harper) and Samantha Stewart (Rashaad Stewart). Five Grandchildren Kendrick, Kylene, WIlliam Jr, Madison, and Raniah. Three Siblings Catherine, Beverly, and Reginald. As well as a host of amazing family and friends.
