Tressie E. Gibson, 82, of Amarillo died Tuesday, April 11, 2006, in Spearman.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Llano Cemetery with Dr. Jerry Strecker officiating. Because of Holy Week, a funeral Mass will be scheduled at a later time. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by N. S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors.

Tressie was born Nov. 26, 1923, in Vian, Okla., and moved to Amarillo as a child. In 1941, she married Bob Gibson, who served in World War II entertaining our troops with some of the big bands in Europe.

Later they had their own music store in Amarillo and the Bob Gibson Trio performed as a dance band for many years throughout the Panhandle.

A special thanks to Hansford County Hospice Program which cared so wonderfully for Tressie in her final journey to Heaven.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1980; her parents, Bert and Ada Compton; and two sisters, Evelyn York and Mary Beeman.

Survivors include two daughters, Judy Strecker and husband Jerry and Linda Gibson, all of Fritch; and a son, Mike Gibson of Amarillo.

The family suggests memorials be to Hansford County Hospice Program, 707 Roland, Spearman, TX 79081.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
