Ada Hillier – April 28, 1964 Glace Bay – Mrs. John Hillier, former resident of South Street, died Tuesday in Peterborough Cure Hospital, Ont., where she was a patient the past two weeks. A native of this community she took up residence in Marion Bridge five years ago and during the winter left on a visit with her daughter, Mrs. Ken Mills, Peterborough. She had been ill the past month. She was a member of Knox United Church. Mrs. Hillier was active in all affairs of the church. Well and favorably known, her death is widely mourned. Her husband died six years ago. Mrs. Hillier was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. A.D. McCuish. She is survived by three sons, Sam in Buffalo, N.Y.; Ivan, Sarinia, Ont.; Joseph with the United States Navy in Tokyo and now in Peterborough; five daughters, (Betty) Mrs. Ken Mills, Mrs. Ruth MacMullin, both of Peterborough, (Lillian) Mrs. Byron Boyer, Ottawa; (Sally) Mrs. Mrs. Miller O'Connell, Montreal and (Lois) Mrs. James Harris, Halifax. The funeral will be held in Peterborough, April 30, with interment at Rosemont Memorial Gardens at Peterborough.
