Debra A. Jensen, age 45, of rural Oakdale, died Wednesday Aug. 23, 2000 in the township of Orange, Juneau County, as the result of an automobile accident.
She was born May 17, 1955 in La Crosse, Wisconsin to James and Joyce (Stark) Rice. Debra was a 1973 graduate of Tomah High School. She attended UW Wisconsin-Eau Claire and received her master's degree in speech therapy in 1978. On Sept 16, 1978, Debra was united in marriage to Rodney M. Jensen at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Tomah.
She was employed by the Tomah Area School District, as a speech therapist. Debra loved her work at the school and the children with whom she worked. She touched the lives of many people with her energy and caring ways. Debra will be sadly missed by her friends, co-workers, and most of all her family.
She is survived by her husband, Rodney; three sons, Matthew, Michael, and Mark, two daughters, Sara and Kathryn; her parents, James and Joyce Rice; four brothers James A. (Melissa) Rice, Timothy (Jill) Rice, Daniel Rice, and Todd Rice, two sisters, Teresa Callinicos and Elizabeth Pierce, her mother and father-in-law Joyce and Marvin Jensen and three sister-in-laws Sheryl, Theresa (Michael) Lindstadt and Lynette. She is further survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by one sister, Jeanne, and one brother-in-law Kevin.
Funeral services will be held today at 3 p.m.at the St. Mary's Catholic Church. Father Richard C. Dickman will officiate. Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Catholic cemetery. Relatives and friends may call from 2 p.m. until the time of the service at the church today. Memorials may be donated to Debra Anne Jensen Memorial Fund in care of Tomah Area School District or the Cerebral Palsy Foundation, The Torkelson Funeral home is assisting the family with arrangements.
