Ramona Anne Juergens, 82, of Sullivan, MO, passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at Life Care Center of Sullivan. Ramona was born on July 31, 1938 in Minot, North Dakota, to Gilbert C. and Levina (Stammen) Chandler. When Ramona was in the first grade, her family moved to Sullivan, MO. She graduated from Sullivan High School, class of 1956. Ramona was united in marriage to James B. Juergens on July 21, 1956, in Hernando, Mississippi, and to their union three children were born: James, Jay and Jeanine. Ramona was employed by Wal-Mart for 25 years. In her free time, she loved reading and fishing. Jim and Ramona fished for crappie at Sterett Creek for 20 years and at Bucksaw for many years. Ramona adored her grandchildren and loved spending time with them. Ramona is survived by her husband James "Jim" Juergens of Sullivan, MO; two children, James "Jimmy" Juergens and wife Wilma of Poplar Bluff, MO, and Jeanine Palmer and husband James of Sullivan, MO; three grandchildren: Jackie Palmer of Shrewsbury, MO, Jamie Padgett of Sullivan, MO, and Jeffery Juergens of Alaska; one great-grandchild, Lucas Padgett; as well as nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Jay Allen Juergens; her parents, Gilbert and Levina Chandler; two sisters, Roberta Compton and Mildred Mercer; two half-brothers, Rolla and Romer Chandler; and one half-sister, Thera Chandler. A memorial service will be conducted 11:00 AM, Friday, July 9, 2021 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, MO. Ramona will be interred in Jefferson Barrack's National Cemetery.
