Ray Vernon Hood, 83, of Hot Springs, ARK, passed away Sunday, July 4, 2021.
He was born March 30, 1938 in Hot Springs, ARK. to the late Ervin & Flossy (Murrell) Hood.
Ray was a member of the Laborer's Union, local #1282 and after retirement worked part time with his nephew at Rick's Plumbing. For 49 years, he was a faithful member of City Life Church, where he served as a former co-children's leader. He loved and supported all children that he met.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Ann (Standridge) Hood; sons Michael Hood (Debbie) and Greg Hood (Samantha); siblings Jerry Hood, Helen Warren, Ronald Hood, Wayne Hood, Joyce Bonner, Kay Jackson and Erviline Breshears; grandchildren Derick Hood, Kevin Hood, Jessica Moore, Peyton Hood, Amber Garcia and Daniel Garcia; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Derick Hood, Kevin Hood, Daniel Garcia, Sean Moore, Austin Price, Isaiah Mahone and Michael Hood. Honorary Pallbearers are Brittany Wallace, the staff of Arkansas Hospice and Dr. Lynn Cleveland and staff.
Funeral service will be 11:00 am Saturday, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am at City Life Church, with Rev. Lance Arguello officiating.
