Celebration of Life will be Saturday, July 3rd at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Home in Weatherford, TX at 10:00 am.
Gloria was born on September 26, 1943 in Taylor, Texas to Juan and Abel Gonzales. She was the oldest of 8 siblings. She met the love of her life, Jesse Martinez and they were married for 32 years and dedicated her life to raising five boys. The family moved from Stanford, TX to the Dallas/Fort Worth area where she began working at General Dynamics as a Quality Engineer for several years then retired with Colonial Savings as Imaging Processor. As much as she worked, she always found time to drive her boys to baseball practice, band practice and cook for all their friends that would come over to hang out. She also loved getting together with her siblings for "Sibling Day" and she loved going to the movies with her sisters.
She was adored by her 19 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren who lovingly called her Wella. She was a pet lover and loved her Pomeranian dogs, especially Bella. She was an avid reader and loved to watch football, especially her Dallas Cowboys and collected sports cards. In the evenings, she would watch her favorite game show, Family Feud or sit on her porch to watch the goats.
Along with her parents, Gloria is rejoicing in Heaven with her beloved spouse Jesse Martinez.
Gloria is survived by her son Mark (Mellisa) from N. Richland Hills, Ralph (Gloria) from Azle, Dean from Granbury, Tim (Maria) from Rowlett and Artie (Berthita) from Fort Worth. Her brothers, Juan Gonzales (North Carolina), Samuel Gonzales (Mansfield), Daniel Gonzales (Huntsville), Reynaldo Gonzales (Burleson), Joe Michael Gonzales (Fort Worth) sisters, Amelia Gonzales-Vega (Watauga) Elisa Nibert (Fort Worth)
She will be loved always and forever in our hearts.
