James A. Ramsey, 66, of Augusta, KS, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2021. Visitation 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 9, 2021 at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta, KS. Service 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 10, 2021, at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, Wichita, KS. Graveside service to follow at 3:00 p.m. at Moline Cemetery, Moline, KS. James was born in Independence, KS on August 16, 1954, to the late Evelyn Jane (Ambler) and Preston Clyde Ramsey, Sr. He served in the U.S. Army in the 82nd Airborne. He worked for 54 Auto and RV for many years. Later, James decided to start his own business, Trailers and Hitches, which he owned for 20 years. He was very proud of building his own business and loved his work! On April 22, 1988 he married Dala (Hey) Ramsey who survives him. He is also survived by: daughter, Kayla Frazier and husband Joe of Augusta, KS; brother, Preston "Junior" Ramsey of Trenton, MO; sister, Cindy Smith of Wichita, KS; sister, Clara Register and husband Ron of Myrtle Beach, SC; sister, Elaine Burt and husband Gary of Fall River, KS; brother, Billy Townsley of Ft. Worth, TX; grandchildren, Harper James and Hollyn Jo Frazier. He was preceded in death by his stepdad, J.L. Townsley. Memorial donations to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice 313 S. Market Wichita, KS 67202.
