Mary Jo Clark Abbott was born on October 18, 1960, the daughter of the late Fred and Veola (Bowlin) Clark. She departed this life on July 6, 2021 reaching the age of 60 years.

Mary Jo was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Veola Clark and her infant son, Taylor Jason Abbott.

Mary Jo was a part of the Clark Clan of Fred and Veola's thirteen children. She was number 4th in line. She is survived by her 12 siblings:

Mary Jo accepted Christ as her personal Savior as a young lady and was a member of the Stop Church of Christ. She was recently blessed by the members of the church when they came to her house and held church service with her in the front porch and yard.

Mary Jo was the supreme example of a hard worker. She was employed by American Woodmark for 22 years and Gregory's Shirt Factory for 14 years prior. No matter her job, she was proud of her work.

Mary Jo was a devoted sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She served a motherly role in her family and was adored by her 12 siblings and 61 nephews and nieces.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 9, 2021 between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 2 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Cabell Grove Cemetery.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take form of donations to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
