PALO, Iowa — State authorities have released the identities of two people found dead inside a car at the Pleasant Creek State Recreation Area near Palo.
Police say Cody Rhodes, 31, and Courtney Rhodes, 27, were the two individuals found late Friday night while DNR park staff were doing routine patrols.
Authorities have not released the cause of death yet and say no other details will be released at this time. At this point, we do not know the nature of their relationship.
The Office of the State Medical Examiner conducted autopsies over the weekend but the results are pending.

Cody is survived by his daughter Rylee Rhodes and step daughter Sophia; parents, Michael and Sandra Rhodes; sisters, Amanda Rhodes and Jessica Rhodes; his grandmother, Marty Rhodes; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Cody is joined in death by his wife, Courtney Olson Rhodes. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Richard Rhodes and his dog, Monster.
