Ronald H. Long, 83, Belmont, WV, passed away Monday, July 5, 2021 at his home. Born in Greensburg, PA, on March 19, 1938, he was a son of the late Walter and Mary Leighty Long. After graduating from Youngwood High School, Youngwood, PA, he received his Bachelor's degree from Penn State University. He worked for several companies, but his longest tenure with Allegheny Power, the company that brought him and his family to West Virginia to stay. Ron was a dedicated family man, active in the community with the Elk's and the St. Marys Presbyterian Church.



He is survived by his children, Bill (Kathy) Long, Columbus, OH, and Barb (Joe) Nitz, Morgantown, WV; his dearly loved grandchildren, Kelsey (Zack) McPherson, Courtney (Guarav) Thakur, and Garrett Nitz; great-granddaughter, Adalyn Mae McPherson. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Paul, Wayne, and Merle, and his wife of over 50 years, Shirley.

A memorial service will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, July 11, 2021 at Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, WV with Pastor Kay Larsen officiating. Friends may call from 12 to 2 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to WVU Medicine Children's Hospital, Morgantown, WV.
