Gerry was born Christmas Day, 1944, at Crittenton Hospital, Rochester, to the late Sidney and Gloria (Morandy) Abel. He married Karin M. (Lotarski) on April 18, 1993, in the Chapel at Mill Race Village, Northville.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 28 years, Karin; two loving children, Jeffrey (Traci) Abel and Jennifer (Chris) Bell; dear sister, Linda Johnson; cherished grandchildren, Cydney and Jordan Abel, Hunter, Brandon and Aleksander Smith, Justin Bell, Lucas Boden, and Jaxon Bell; and nieces and nephew, Meredith, Brent, and Melinda Johnson.
Gerry's funeral ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon, July 7, at 1:00 pm, at the Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home, downtown Farmington. The family will receive guests from 9:00 am until the start of the 1:00 pm ceremony.
Private interment at Glen Eden Memorial Park, Livonia, will follow the ceremony.
