Born in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Lewis Robert Watson and Abby Jordan Watson. He served in the Army/Airforce, and he retired in 1988 as Personnel Sergeant 1st class in the National Guard. He was a former Deacon at Shady Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving are: son Mike (Anna) Watson of Belton; Grandson, Marc (Nichole) Watson of Mt Pleasant; Granddaughter Lyndi (Phil) Carwile of Honea Path, and 6 great grandchildren. Son Jimmy Watson, Brother J.B. Watson, Sisters Virginia Acker, and Louise Cox predeceased him.
