Terry Rosaline Roberts

(January 16, 1934 - June 30, 2021)

Terry Rosaline Roberts, 87 of Denton, Tx passed away from this life to her Eternal Reward on June 30, 2021 at Presbyterian Hospital, Denton. She was born January 16, 1934 in Marquez, Tx to Mary Elizabeth Christian and Neyland Morris. She was a member of The First Baptist Church of Denton. She was raised in Austin, Tx, later moving to Bridgeport, Tx in her teenage years, graduating from Bridgeport High School in 1952. She participated as a Cheerleader and Tennis player and won numerous awards. She married Ronald (Ronnie) B. Roberts on March 22, 1952 and to the marriage were born Beverly Donna Roberts who was deceased on May 3, 1956, Diane Roberts Stevens, Byrle Roberts, and Joe Roberts, all of Denton.

Terry is survived by, her daughter Diane Stevens and husband Steve, sons Byrle Roberts and Joe Roberts, grandchildren Robby Stevens and wife Denise of Saginaw, Austin Ryder Roberts of Carrollton, Christopher James Roberts and Erin Nicole Roberts of Denton, great grandchildren Maya Dianna and Ella Rose Stevens of Saginaw. Brother-in-law Tommy J. Roberts and wife Claudia of Bridgeport, Sister-in-law Vicki Shisler and husband Don of Bridgeport and Fort Worth and by nephews, nieces, cousins and many friends. Preceding Terry in death were her daughter Beverly, husband Ronnie, her Parents, brother, grandparents and many aunts and uncles.

She was employed in general office jobs as a secretary from 1952-1957, She worked for "Lane's" in Denton from 1968-74. She enrolled in Hawes-Kaplan Institute of Dallas where she received her real estate license in 1995 and joined the firm of Jimmy Brown Realtors. She spent 16 years in Real Estate and was a member of the Greater Denton-Wise Counties Board of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors. She retired from Real Estate in 2011 to take care of Ronnie.

Over the years she volunteered as a Girl Scout Troop Leader, was active in the PTA and Home Room Mothers, she was a volunteer score keeper in the Denton Boys Baseball Program where her sons played and was elected to the Board of Directors of that Organization and served as Secretary-Treasurer, she held that office for 14 years and oversaw keeping all of it organized for over 50 baseball teams. She served on the Steering committee for the Parks Bond Election to build the Senior Citizens Center, 2- Recreations Centers and multiple softball and baseball fields, soccer fields and Tennis Courts to help accommodate the rapidly growing city. The City of Denton honored her and Ronnie by naming a field located in Mack Park as "Roberts Field" in appreciation of their hard work and efforts of working 27 years for the youth and senior citizens of Denton.

Terry's love of music, of singing and playing the piano, organ and accordion provided her with many wonderful opportunities as a Christian to sing in many church choirs, she participated as a youth leader, in gospel music, teaching Sunday School, Christmas Productions and Revivals. She was asked to sing and play for many weddings, funerals, and regular church services. Terry believed that this was her Christian mission of Church work.

The highlight of her life was her family, she loved with all her heart, family vacations to Branson were her favorite as well as just being with her kids no matter where we were or the event. She also had a special love for her Kitty cats (Weezee, Scotch and Tanner).

A memorial service will be held at Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust Street, Denton, Tx on Saturday, July 10th, at 11:00am.

Terry will be interred at a later date at Bridgeport's East Side Cemetery, Bridgeport, Tx .
