Mr. Brett DeSha Taylor, age 33, of the Priest Fork section of Bee, Virginia, passed away Saturday (July 3, 2021) at Dickenson County Hospital. Born June 19, 1988 in Richlands, Virginia, he was a son of Lee and Fonnie Davidson Taylor of Bee, Virginia. Brett was a beloved member of the Virginia Department of Corrections at Red Onion State Prison for eleven years. Though he was not actively involved in the church, he knew and loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all of his heart, and he prayed to the Lord daily. Brett had a heart of gold and as big as the sun. He loved his family and friends with all of his big heart. He was affectionately known as "Big T" by those that loved him. He loved spending time with his nieces and nephews as well as fishing with his fiancée, Cianna and his son, Aiden.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Carl and Imogene Taylor, maternal grandparents, Nettie and Everett Davidson, uncle, Allen Lloyd Taylor, and great-uncle, Carroll Sydney Rasnake.
In addition to his parents, he was survived by fiancée, Cianna Mullins; one son, Aiden Mullins; three brothers, Jarrod Taylor and wife, Kayla, Bradly Taylor and wife, Jennifer, and Aaron Taylor; one sister, Leanne Deel and husband, Kevin; countless cousins, nieces, and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Tuesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Kyle Ratliff and Rev. David Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Priest Fork Cemetery at Bee, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be the members of the Virginia Department of Corrections Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home on Tuesday at 1:30 PM.
