Sarah J Stevens, 83, of New Haven, passed away on July 2, 2021, after a brave 23 year battle with cancer. Born on May 5, 1938, in Portland, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Alice (nee Saywer) Fry.

She was a member of the 7th Day Adventist Church, Fort Wayne, and retired in 1998, after 29 years of service as a School Bus Driver for East Allen County Schools. She was a kind and caring woman who would do anything for anyone, she loved children, gardening, canning, fishing, her cats, and watching the Cincinnati Reds, and Purdue Basketball.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Bob Stevens; children, Bob (Christine) Stevens, Rick (Bonita) Stevens, and Cathy Huff; daughter-in-law, Gayle Stevens; grandchildren, Keith (Casey) Palacio, Cieristin Palmer, Marcus Palmer, Derek (Lauren) Palmer, Tabitha (Dillon) Wheeler, Bethany Stevens, Jehnay Wright, Andrea Stevens, and Lilly Stevens; great-grandchildren, Breanna (Marshall Scott) Palacio, Abran Pantoja, Olivia Adams, Hayden Palmer, Jackson Palmer, and Josie Palmer; great-great-grandson, Hendrex Scott; sister, Sharon Garlinger; and brother, Richard Fry.

She was also preceded in death by her son, John Stevens; daughter-in-law, Sandy Stevens; and brothers, Jack, and Harry Fry.

Funeral service will be 10:00am, Thursday, July 8, 2021, at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior, officiated by Pastor David DeRose. Calling will also be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm, Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
