She was born December 29, 1938, in Aultman, Pennsylvania. Betty had made her home in Amherst for over fifty years.
Her primary focus in life was being a homemaker. Betty loved taking care of her family, and especially loved to bake special treats for her family and friends for Christmas. She was a faithful member of St. John Lutheran Church in Elyria. Betty was a proud owner of a 1932 Studebaker which she loved to drive to local car shows.
Survivors include her children, David C. Newsome (Cindy), and Deborah Argenti both of Huron; and her sister, Alice Kish of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by her husband, of fifty-five years Charles "Chuck" Rex Newsome on November 26, 2010; and her parents, Frank and Irene Mrazik (nee: Pozik).
Public visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2021, from 12 noon until the time of service at 2 p.m. at Hempel Funeral Home, Amherst. The family is requesting that all attendees wear a mask and maintain social distancing standards. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. John Lutheran Church; 1140 West River Road North, Elyria, Ohio 44035 or to the Elyria Animal Protective League; 8303 Murray Ridge Road, Elyria, Ohio 44035.
