Alphonse J. Juenger, 76, of E. Seventh St., died today at the Chillicothe Veterans Administration Hospital following an extended illness.

Funeral Mass will be held at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Peter's Catholic Church, of which Juenger was a member, with the Rev. Msgr. Julius Klinec officiating. Burial will follow in St. Margaret's Cemetery.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Sunday at the Ware Funeral Home, where recitation of the Rosary will be at 7:30 p.m.

Juenger, a retired Baltimore and Ohio Railroad machinist, was born May 10, 1896, in Chillicothe, to Frank and Rosa Hess Juenger. On Sept. 24, 1924, he married the former Annice Winget, who survives.

Also surviving are two sisters, Miss Mary Juenger and Mrs. J. Rodney (Ada) Gragg; two brothers, Al and William; and three nephews.

He was predeceased by one brother, Roman.

Juenger was with the B&O for 51 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the International Association of Machinists, and served with the Army in World War I.
