Booneville, Miss.- A.V. Murphy Jr., 47 died Tuesday night at St. Joseph's Hospital East in Memphis after a three-month illness.

A Booneville merchant and bulldozer operator, he was a veteran of Korean war and a member of the Fairview Baptist Church.

Services will be 2 p.m.today at Fairview Baptist Church with the Rev. Pete McCoy and the Rev. Clifford Smart officiating, burial will be at Hodges Chapel cemetery.

Survivors include his wife Mrs. Nellie Bishop Murphy of Booneville; his father, Mr.A.V. Murphy Sr.; a daugther, Mrs. Shelia Reeves and husband Bobby of Booneville; two sons, Nelson A.V. Murphy Jr. and wife Diane of Booneville; and Richard Duane Murphy of the home; three sisters, Mrs. Mildred McKissack of Booneville, Mrs. Rachel Hall, of Booneville, and Mrs. Neta Mason, of Joliet, Ill.; a brother Don Murphy of Booneville, one grandson, Christopher A.V. Murphy.

Later A.V.'s body was moved to the Booneville Cementry.

After his death there were 7 more grandchildren; Bobby Dee Reeves, Jessica Reeves Shook, Emily Kay Murphy Ball, Phillip Alan Murphy, Rodney Duane Murphy, Vanessa Lynn Murphy Harris, Andrew Vincent Murphy. Step granddaught Angela Michelle Reves oggins.
