George Watts, age 79, of the Little Creek Community, passed away on Saturday, January 30th at home with his loving wife, Deborah, at his side. A native of Yancey County, he was a son of the late Rosevelt and Altha Randolph Watts. He was also preceded in death by his brother JC Watts. George enjoyed sewing quilts, pocketbooks and making jewelry, where he sold at local flea markets. He could fix or build anything.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Deborah Elrod Watts is his sons: Oliver Watts and wife, Angel, of Marion and Todd Watts of Old Fort; grandchildren: Brody, Anthony, Tori, Davis, Yancey and Raina; two great-grandchildren: Mila and Leianni; sisters: Annette Troutman of Burnsville, Peggy Pate and husband, Bill, of Clinton SC and Shirley Mitchell and husband, Bill, of Marion; brother-in-law, Weyman Elrod of Conyers, GA; sisters-in-law: Wynette Elrod of Covington, GA and Sue Gibson of Newnan, GA. Numerous nieces, nephews and friends also survive.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date in the First Christian Church in Marion.
