CARENCRO ~ Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in Spirit of Liberty Global Ministries (2841 Louisiana Ave., Lafayette, LA 70501) for Lawrence Colby Davis, age 30, who passed away Monday, June 28, 2021 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.

Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro. Bishop Larry Lloyd of Spirit of Liberty Church will officiate at the services.

Lawrence Colby Davis was born on September 6, 1990 to the union of Lawrence and Janet Davis. Lawrence, better known as "Colby" by his friends and family, had a soul for music. He loved to play the accordion, was an amazing drummer, was a sound technician, played zydeco for eleven years with Wayne and the Same Ole 2 Step and Colby and the Zydeco Riders, and was the church musician at Spirit of Liberty Church.

A 2009 graduate of Carencro High School, Colby stayed actively involved with the school having been an instructor with the Carencro High School Golden Bruin Band for over 5 years and faithfully attended Friday night football games in the CroDome. His former classmates will miss his full of life personality.

Colby's passion for music went far beyond entertainment as it led him to many lifelong friendships and memories. Colby was always willing to give the shirt off his back and had the best interest of everyone around him. Many times, it would be mentioned that he was always there for his friends and family during their most difficult times and always making sure the children were cared for. He had the most infectious personality and a smile to match. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his children and may his soul rest in eternal harmony.
urvivors include his wife, Keoshia Davis; his children, Kayden Davis, Kylah Fortier and Kayla Davis; his parents, Lawrence and Janet Davis; one sister, Crystal Dudley and her husband, Rashann; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends whom all considered Colby their brother.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Spirit of Liberty Global Ministries (2841 Louisiana Ave., Lafayette, LA 70501) from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until service time on Saturday.

Melancon Funeral Home, (337) 896-3232, is in charge of arrangements.
