Angus B. Conley was a son of Benjamin and Nancy (Quinlin) Conley of Columbia, Maine. He came to California in the early 1860s and lived for a time in Santa Cruz County. In the 1880 census, he was a resident of the township of Santa Clara, Santa Clara County, listed as an unmarried farmer.
He was killed by a runaway horse according to the previous manager of this Findagrave memorial. He is buried with his brothers James M. and Lehi L. Conley.
The Stockton Record, July 22, 1896. "CONLY—At his home near Tracy, on Monday, July 20, 1896, Angus B. Conly, a native of Maine, aged 63 years. The funeral will take place from the Presbyterian church in Tracy at 10 o'clock Thursday morning."
