Kenneth E. "Ken" Callahan, 81, Overland Park, KS, died Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at home after a brief illness. Ken was born June 26, 1923, to Earl and Myrtle (Knoblock) Callahan, in Quincy, IL. He graduated from Quincy High School in 1941. He served in the U.S. Air Force in World War II from 1943 to 1945. He was married November 27, 1948 to Barbara Dodds in Milwaukee, WI, who survives. Also surviving is a son, Patrick Earl and his wife Anita, of Ft. Wayne, IN; a brother Glenn Callahan, Centennial, CO; and a sister, Nadine and her husband, Dr. Robert Simpson, of Pleasant Hill, TN. Ken worked for International Harvester (now International Truck & Engine) in various cities in the Midwest from 1948 until his retirement. Ken was much loved and will be desperately missed by his wife and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Kansas City Hospice. Friends are invited to call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, May 21, at the Church of the Ascension, 9510 W. 127th St., Overland Park, KS.
