Dan was born in DeWitt, Arkansas, on October 4, 1937, to the late Leonard and Viola Harrison Owens. Dan worked for Firestone and Greyhound Bus Line. He enjoyed gardening, singing (Amazing Grace) and rebuilding David Bradley Garden Tractors. He was a member of the First Assembly of God in Wynne.
Survivors are his wife, Clara Ellis Owens of the home, son, Bobby Dan Owens, Jr. and wife Melanie of Fayetteville, daughters, Brenda Shempert and husband Ray of Wynne, Connie Mitchell and husband Billy of Wynne, stepdaughter, Teresa Nowak and husband Perry of Memphis, brother, Carrol Owens of Wynne, sisters, Marcenia Hawkins of Wynne, Katheryn Hobbs of Colt, eleven grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Phillip Brock Owens in 2012.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 5, 2021, at the First Assembly of God in Wynne from 1 to 2 PM. Funeral services will follow at 2 PM with Rev. Matt Hodges officiating. Burial will be in Crosslawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Assembly of God, Wynne, 1900 N. Killough, Wynne, Arkansas 72396.
