Shirley Lee Griffin, born on December 28, 1934, passed away with her beloved family by her side on January 27, 2021 at the age of 86. Shirley was born in Chaffee, Missouri to Eugene and Selena Thompson. She was married to her loving husband, John Griffin for 60 years, together they had five children. Shirley was a stay-at-home mother while the children were growing up. Once the youngest started High School, Shirley set out to fulfill her dream of pursuing a career. She earned her Associates degree and went on to gain her Bachelors in English and her Master's degree in Education which transpired into a career as a Teacher. Shirley loved teaching. She was an avid reader and was heavily involved in Bible Study.

As Shirley's great-grandchildren came along, she became known as Gigi. When called upon by her granddaughters, she was happy to help care for her great- grandchildren, beginning in 2004 and ending in 2018 at age 83. Gigi referred to her time spent with great-grandchildren as "medicine for the heart".

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; her husband , John Griffin; sons, Keith, and Scott Griffin; siblings, Barbara Smith, Donna O'Bar, Patsy Deaver, Mike Thompson and Sandy Bronstad.

She is survived by her loving children, grandchildren, great- grandchildren; her sister, and numerous nieces and nephews.
