Janice A. Hyden, 82, of Columbus, passed away July 3, 2021 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Janice was born January 13, 1939 in Bartholomew County, the daughter of Virgil and Shirley Williams Arnett. She married Clayton J. Hyden on September 19, 1958.
Janice loved the Lord, and enjoyed gardening, as well as helping her husband with anything he was working on, from building fences to cutting grass. Most of all, Janice loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Janice is survived by her children Steven J. (Kimberly) Hyden, Sherri L. (Randy) Pumphrey, and Lisa K. (Michael) Thayer all of Columbus; grandchildren Ian Pumphrey, Breana England, Kyla Ramirez, Bryce Hyden, Robbie Leffler, Ryan Leffler, and Raegan Shroyer; great-grandchildren Gabriel Pumphrey, Randall Pumphrey, Tristan Filson, Christelle Ramirez, Rilian Ramirez, Claire Hyden, Winston Hyden, Nora Leffler, Roman leffler, Reese Shroyer, Ailani Shroyer, Emory Leffler, and Adler Leffler; as well as a sister Evelyn (Bill) Bass of Canton, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Clayton on February 14, 2018; brothers Frank and Marvin Arnett; as well as a sister Peggy Proffitt.
The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday July 7, 2021 at the Jewell - Rittman Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of services Wednesday. Burial will be at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
