Jerry Braxton Smith, 77, of Lumberton, died on Saturday July 3 in his home.

Jerry is preceded in death by his father and mother, Willie and Lela Smith; one son, Jeffery Carroll Smith; three brothers, Billy Smith and his wife Betty, Leroy Smith and his wife Nancy, and Milton Smith; one sister, Melba Broadaway and her husband Joe.

He is survived by his wife Mary Smith; a son, Joey Smith and his wife Stephanie of Lumberton; one daughter, Amy Clewis and her husband David of Lumberton; one brother Wallace Smith and his wife Nancy of Lumberton; one sister, Helen Wilkins and her husband David of Lumberton; five grandchildren, Zach Smith, Ethan Clewis, Riley Clewis, Jordan Smith and Garret Smith; one sister-in-law, Janie Smith; and a whole host of nieces, nephews and dear friends.

There will be a funeral service on Monday, July 5th at 3PM, at Abe Branch Holiness Church. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1-3 PM. Burial will immediately follow at Meadowbook Cemetery in Lumberton.
