He was born on February 13, 1970, in Biloxi. He attended Mercy Cross High School and attained a B.F.A at Belhaven University.
He is predeceased by his father, William Collins; and his stepfather, Benjamin Wimberly Jr.
Chris is survived by his children, Sean, Michael, Lillian, and Brennan; his mother, Mary; his sister, Merritt (Thomas) Shaw; his brother, Thomas (Jennifer Weinzirl) Wimberly and his sister by choice, Kristen Sims.

A graveside service limited to family and close friends is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on July 10, 2021, at the Old Biloxi Cemetery near the front exit.
