Diana Davis Ward, 77, of McMurray, passed away Friday, July 2, 2021.

She was a beloved daughter of the late Erroll B. Sr. and the late Eleanor Davis; wife of the late Chester B. Ward; beloved mother of Jason D. (Kelly) Ward of Venetia and the late Jonathan B. Ward; sister of Erroll B. (Elaine) Davis Jr. of Atlanta, Ga.; grandmother of Carson J. Kiger and Melia R. Ward.

Those lucky enough to have had Diana in their lives found a strong, compassionate, devoted and loyal wife, mother, sister, daughter, colleague and friend. Diana had a love for children. For nearly 30 years, she taught several elementary grades within the Pittsburgh Public School system, settling in with Kindergarten at Sheraden Elementary in the West End after a 10 year sabbatical to raise her sons. She touched the lives of many children. Diana was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Washington. She always looked forward to her gatherings with the B.A.S.H. (Black Association of South Hills) women's group and served as their scholarship chairwoman. Diana loved helping others and always left a lasting positive impression. Diana will be greatly missed by her family and a multitude of friends.

Services and inurnment will be private in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Parkinson's Foundations – Ways to Give, www.apdaparkinson.org. A celebration of Diana's life will take place later in the summer.
