Shirley Faye (Carroll) Lawson, age 80, of Jellico, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family.
Shirley was born on January 16, 1941 to the late Jim Carroll and Dorothy (Reynolds) Carroll in Jellico, TN. Her paternal grandparents were the late Sherid Carroll and Katie (Carpenter) Carroll. Her maternal grandparents were the late Boyd Reynolds and Mary (Stanfill) Delk.
She was a long-time member of the Mountain Ash Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents and grandparents, she was preceded in death by her sister, JoAnn (Carroll) Wilson.
She is survived by her husband, Glenn Lawson, of Jellico; two daughters, Jackie Davis, and husband, Ralph, and Sonya Lawless, and husband, Tony, all of Jellico; one son, Darrell Lawson, and wife, Ellen, of Andersonville, TN; seven grandchildren, Scott Davis, and wife, Amy, Summer Kidd, and husband, Brandon, Ryan Dilbeck, Mikayla Dilbeck, Madison Dilbeck, Cameron Lawson, and Colton Lawson; and seven great-grandchildren, Reagan, Rilynn, and Grant Davis, Grayson, Presley, and Chandler Kidd, and Gannon Dilbeck.
She is also survived by one brother, Jimmy Ray Carroll, and wife, Sandy, of Mansfield, Ohio; one sister, Patty (Carroll) Chadwell, and husband, Calvin, of Jellico; aunt, Betty (Delk) McClanahan, of Jellico; sister-in-law, Vicki Meadors, and husband, Roger, of Williamsburg, Kentucky; nine nieces and nephews; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, and a host of friends, neighbors, and other relatives to mourn her passing.
Her funeral service was held on Friday evening, April 30, at the Cox & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Carpenter and Bro. Danny Oakes officiating.
Graveside service and interment were held on Saturday morning, May 1, in the Jellico Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Scott Davis, Tony Lawless, Devin Oakes, Joel Brummett, Ralph Davis, and Shawn Farris.
Cox & Son Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
