Hannah Ellen Reeves and Howard S. Braffett married in 1844 in Preble County, Ohio. Howard probably died sometime between the 1850 and 1860 census enumerations.

Hannah and her sister Josephine Reeves were dressmakers (1860 Camden, Ohio; 1864 Washington, Missouri; 1882 Kansas City, Missouri; 1888 Los Angeles, California). Hannah died in 1895 in Los Angeles.

Hannah and Josephine were part of the 1864 evacuation of Washington, Missouri during the Civil War.
