Kenneth Loyd Sims was born on April 21, 1948 in Dallas, Texas and passed away July 1, 2021 in Carrollton, Texas. Kenneth is preceded in death by his Husband Lowell Worthington, his sister Anita; brother Jerry and his parents Delmar and Obelee. Kenneth obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture from University of Texas/ Arlington. Following his graduation, he worked in construction with his father and brother designing and building homes in Duncanville Texas. In 1971, he began his career in the floral industry volunteering with Carolyn Harris. He finished his career in 2017 as the Manager of Rembrandt Florist in Dallas, Texas. In the early 1990s, Kenneth met the love of his life, Lowell Worthington. Together, they were very involved and committed to the Legacy group and the Couples group at their church. So much so that they hosted the Annual Couples Christmas Party at their home for 18 years. Kenneth was very passionate about making sure gathering were arranged and managed so that members feel welcome and enjoy their time at Cathedral of Hope. Kenneth was a patient and loving father, who loved and supported his 5 children. He enjoyed taking them to ride rollercoasters at Six Flags. His priority was his children and he always had time to listen and to help. Later when the grandchildren and the great grandchildren came along: He enjoyed spending time with and teaching them. He will forever be loved and missed by all. The burial will be at 11am on 12 July at DFW National Cemetery. There will be a Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at 3:00 PM, Thursday, July 15th, 2021 at Cathedral of Hope Church.
