Roy Lee Simmons was born September 19, 1937 in St. Joseph, Louisiana and went to be with his Lord June 30, 2021, at his home, in Oklahoma City, OK after a lengthy illness.

Roy was born to James and Lucille Ellis and adopted, at birth by Aubry and Velma Simmons. He had two brothers, Arthur and James, two sisters Gloria and Mary.

He had three children, a son, Wayne, two daughters, Terrie and Heidi.

Roy married Verna Marie on June 17, 1980 and recently celebrated their 41st
anniversary.

Roy served proudly in the United States Air Force for 49 years. He was a Vietnam Veteran.

He loved going to church, until health issues prevented it, but watched his favorite religious services on television and served the Lord with all his heart.

His favorite hobby was playing dominoes with family and friends.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, brother James, sister Mary, and son Wayne.
