Richard John Cate
December 10, 1958 - June 28, 2021

Richard John Cate, age 62 of Manawa, beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend was unexpectedly called home to be with the Lord on June 28, 2021.

Dick was born on December 10, 1958 in Appleton, WI., son of the late Richard and Joyce Cate. At the age of 17, he enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country for 6 years. Dick was an outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing, from chasing caribou in Alaska to deer here at home, he always had an adventure up his sleeve. The only thing he loved more than the outdoors was spending time with his children and grandchildren. They will miss their "Bumpa". The life of the party, with a great sense of humor, he could always make you laugh and spending time with family and friends brought him joy.

Dick is survived by his 4 children, their mother Susan Cate, and their 8 grandchildren. Savannah (Scotty) Fredrickson, and their children Madalyn, Peter, Josiah and Daniel; Benjamin (Karen) Cate, and their children Emmy and Grace; Allison (Mike) Ebert, and their children Ellie and Nora; Lucas and (Mikayla) Cate; sisters: Connie (Michael) Worzala, Christine Popp and Claire (William) Reid; uncle Ronald Cate. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews including Dylan (Little D) Draska, and Matt Schrank of Gages Tire and Auto where Dick liked to help out.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Catherine Cate, brother-in-law Gary Popp and his beloved dog "Pup".

Per Dick's wishes, a graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King with Rev. David Goyke officiating. Full Military Honors will be held.
