Joe Blocker, 69, of Fountain Hill, died Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at his residence. Mr. Blocker was a native of Ashley County, a resident of Fountain Hill since 2012, and a former resident of Arkansas City for several years. A 1970 graduate of Portland High School, he was a small engine specialist for John Deere for over 20 years, having worked at Arkansas Ag in McGehee and Portland. While Mr. Blocker enjoyed reading, hunting and fishing, he also loved to have a good time, and you were never bored when he was around. He deeply loved his family with all his heart, was the best Daddy you could have ever asked for and loved to spoil his grandbabies rotten.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Linn Blocker in 2009; his parents, James Paul Blocker, Sr. and Alma Lillian Carroll Martin Blocker; his step-father, Emory Elvin Martin; two sisters, Frances Martin Brown and Patricia Ann Roberts and two brothers, Jessie Elvin Martin and Claude Thomas Martin.
He is survived by his son, Bill Wells and wife, Staci, of Monticello; a brother, James Paul Blocker, Jr. of Seattle, Washington; a grandson, Kyle, three granddaughters, Shelby, Sydney and Courtney and a host of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services are 2 p.m., Saturday, July 3, 2021, in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery with Bro. Sanders Brooks officiating. Pallbearers are Bill Wells, Terry Tate, Tony Roberts, Don Brooks, Jim Blocker and Bruce Towe.
