Benjamin "Ben" Wayne Harris

KNIGHTDALE – Benjamin "Ben" Wayne Harris, age 50, passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2021. Ben was born in Bitburg AFB, Germany on September 5, 1970.

Ben was a graduate of NC State University. He worked for over 20 years as a Professional Engineer with Elect Consulting in Wendell. Ben enjoyed working on model airplanes, playing the keyboard, snow skiing, and spending time with friends at Applebee's. Ben was a loving son, brother, friend, and will be missed by all who knew him. The family would like to say a special thanks to Ben's good friend and co-worker, Barry.

Ben is survived by parents, Roy and Virginia Harris of Rocky Mount; his sister, Sheryl Barnes and spouse, Clint, of Rocky Mount; his niece, Rebecca Barnes; his nephew, Hayden Barnes; many aunts, uncles, cousins; and his parrot, Esmeralda.

A Celebration of Ben's Life will be held on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Bishop Tommy Sutherland officiating. Visitation with the family will follow the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home until 4:00 PM.

Please feel free to attend the service casually ("come as you are").

In lieu flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
