Died as a result of injuries he received when he accidently stepped into the side of a moving vehicle. He suffered a fractured skull, fractured ribs and ankle and a punctured lung. He was the son of Mr. & Mrs. Amos K. Steele. He was married to the former Anna Dauberman who died in 1942. Survived by a son J. Donald Steele and a daughter Ruth (married to Joseph King). He was preceded in death by a son Robert who drowned in the Susquehanna River at age 16.
