Wilma Sue Hobby Miller, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend, age 100, passed away June 30, 2021. She was born November 2, 1920.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Joe C. Miller, Sr., who from the time they first met called her "Blondie" and she was known by that name among many friends and family. Also preceded in death by her beloved grandson Russell Miller, parents Claude and Harriet Hobby, brothers and sisters, Claude Jr., twins Mary and Marian, Clarence, Connie, Jimmy, Charles, Bruce, Jerry, and Billy.

She is survived by son Joe C. Miller Jr. (Charlotte) and Judy Miller McCarter, grandchildren Gina (Erik) Longmire, Micka (Chris) Vaden, Melanie Miller, Allison (Jack) Beckner, and great grandchildren Caroline and Elizabeth Longmire, Joe C. Miller III, Lanie, Lexie and Lacey Beckner, and step great grandchildren Cole, Emma, Calli and Luke Vaden.

Wilma was a kind, gracious and loving woman who devoted her life to her family and caring for them. Her family always refer to her as being a strong woman who, while her husband was fighting in the European Theater in World War II, had a three-year-old son and a baby to care for until he returned home. She and her husband opened their home and hearts to any one in need. She was a blessing to all who knew her and could be heard many times reciting the poem, "Tommy's Prayer", that her Mother taught her when she was a little girl which she could still recite by memory at 100 years old.

She was a Sunday School teacher and choir member for many years at Miller's Lutheran Church until it was no longer a functioning church. She would clean the sanctuary, dusting pews and cleaning floors for the Sunday morning service. After the church closed, she and her husband then became members of St. Johns Lutheran Church for 37 years where she was a member of the altar guild, tender loving cooking and the senior adult ministry. She loved St. Johns and had many fond memories of the friends she made there.

Visitation will be Friday, July 2nd, 2021, from 1:30pm to 3:00pm at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel, with funeral service at 3:00pm, Pastor Amy Figg Ley and retired Pastor Steve Misenheimer officiating with music provided by Pastor John Tirro. Interment will be at Miller's Lutheran Cemetery immediately following service, at 6515 Millertown Pike, Knoxville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Miller's Lutheran Cemetery or, St. John's Lutheran Senior Adult Ministry.
