Karen grew up and attended school in Pryor. Her parents owned the old airport in Pryor, so before she got her driver's license, she had her flying permit. Her first job was at El Royal in Pryor and over the years she also worked as an EMT and most recently as a Home Health Caregiver.
She was known to have a great sense of humor. She loved her family, especially her grandkids, and was very loving and protective to them all. She loved to bake; her banana bread was a family favorite. She also enjoyed listening to music, she was a huge Coldplay fan, and she enjoyed gardening and birdwatching.
She is survived by her four children, London Strickland and wife Jamie of Beaverton, Oregon, Travis Mitchell of Seaside, Oregon, Kelsey Espinoza and husband Rueben of Pryor and Megan Koehn and husband Michael of Enid; eleven grandchildren, Noah, Evelyn, Liam, Rylea, Hunter, Jackson, TJ, Selah, Harley, Olivia and Ryker; brother, Kenny Mitchell of Tulsa; sister, Mary Harrison of Washington and close friend, Ricky Howard of Pryor.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Katy Mitchell in 2018 and brother, Ernie Ferguson.
