Tony Tate died peacefully in his sleep in Las Vegas on June 25, 2021, at the age of 64.

Tony was born in Ville Platte, La., on March 11, 1957, but grew up in Lake Charles, La., where he graduated from Lake Charles High School in 1976.

He attended Austin Junior College and worked for 20 years for PBS&J Engr. as a Land Surveyor and Party Chief in Las Vegas.

Tony returned to Lake Charles for a few years, but six months ago went back to Las Vegas to live.

He will be remembered as a caring, generous and nice person. Tony will be truly missed by his family and many friends.

Tony was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Tate; his step-father, Bill Charles; and sister-in-law, Liz Tate.

Those who will cherish his memories are his mother, Lou Charles; his sister, Debbie (Jim) Huff; and brother, Jerry Tate, all of Lake Charles.

Tony was legally blind because of a hereditary eye disease retinitis pigmentosa. The family would like to thank his friends in Lake Charles; and Kim Moore, Rick Bonacci, and Sally Whitesall in Las Vegas for helping him.

A memorial will be held in Las Vegas; and Tony's last wishes will be honored by spreading his ashes over Lake Mead.
