SUE'S OBITUARY
Sue Wilson Little, 92, of Chattanooga, passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2021. She was born 3/9/1929 in Dallas, Texas and was raised in Sweetwater, TN and graduated from Sweetwater High School. After high school she attended the University of Chattanooga (now UTC) and was an active member of the Chi Omega Sorority.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, John Randolph Little, Sr., whom she met while attending college and married 6/4/1949. For many years she was an American Red Cross Gray Lady volunteer at Erlanger Hospital. She was an active member of the Riverview Garden Club and the women's service league (LWML) of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church. She raised 4 children while providing her husband with social and administrative career assistance during his 41 years with State Farm Insurance. She was also a longtime member of the Chattanooga Golf and Country Club.
She is additionally preceded in death by her mother, Mary Lorena Hansard Wilson, father, Robert Young Wilson, both of Sweetwater; brothers, Paul Wilson of Sweetwater and Edd Wilson of Dayton, TN; and sisters, Ruth Wilson Dunlap of Dallas, TX;Nancy Wilson Callaway of Alexandria, VA and Mary Wilson Fulghum of Chattanooga.
She is survived by her daughter, Jane Little of Fort Myers, FL; son, John Little Jr. (Sally) of Chattanooga; son, Jim Little (Jann) of Chattanooga; and daughter, Elizabeth Little Boyles (John) of Lookout Mountain, GA. She was blessed with seven grandchildren, Katharine Odum (Michael), Caroline Baker (Todd), Sally Nelson (Sam),Jim Little, Jr., Sarah McGill (Mark), Mary Boyles Zachary (Zach), and Martha Boyles Law (Newton). Seven great grandchildren, Jasper and Poppy Odum; Teddy and Louise Baker; Davis and Mary Nelson; and Emmett Law.
The family would like to thank the staff of Thrive at Brow Wood, Lookout Mountain, GA, Dr. Jack McCallie, and Tapestry Hospice of Northwest Georgia for the wonderful care she received. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to her favorite charities, Chattanooga Food Bank, Community Kitchen or The Salvation Army.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at Forest Hills Cemetery with Pastor Barry Hildebrandt officiating.
There will be no Public visitation at the funeral home.
