Obituary for Israel Anacleto Rodriguez
Israel Anacleto Rodriguez, 72, passed away on March 4, 2020.

Israel was born on May 9, 1947 in Weslaco, Texas. In 1968, he met and married his wife of 50 years, Alicia, a week after they first met. They later moved to the Dallas area where he spent his life as a diesel mechanic. When asked what people remembered about him, the word that came up most was generous. He helped all those in need with food, money, and a home. Whatever they needed, he found a way to help.

After two battles with cancer and years of dialysis due to end-stage renal failure, he made the courageous decision to be placed on hospice. He spent the last 2 weeks of his life surrounded by family and friends. He ate and drank anything he could have wanted and was filled with days and days of laughter. For the first time in years, he had no pain and was able to pass in the way that he wanted.

Israel is survived by his sister, Mary Alice Ramirez. His children Sandy and Andrea Rodriguez, Laurie Vasquez, and Israel and Monica Rodriquez. His grandchildren, Rolando and Vanessa Acuna, Maria and Andrew Mills, Israel Rodriquez III, Ismael Vasquez Jr., Adrianna Rodriquez, and Adrian Vasquez. His great-grandkids Rolando III, Izaiah, Aubree, Alexis Acuna and Shylah Mills. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Pablo and Rafaela; his brothers, Joe De Los Santos and Ruben Rodriguez; his sister, Mary Ann Rodriguez; and his wife of 50 years, Alicia.

Rosary will be held Sunday, March 8th from 6-8 PM. Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 9th at 11 AM at Restland Cemetery, 13005 Greenville Ave. Dallas, Tx 75243. Reception to follow.
