Cheryl Hood, 73 of Shelbyville, KY passed away Tuesday June 29, 2021 in Louisville, KY.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday July 6, 2021 at Shannon Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Grove Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.

For the last 58 years, Cheryl and I have always had each other . . . We've loved, we've laughed and we've cried together.
We've hugged and held hands at every opportunity . . . Or, for no reason at all . . . Simply sharing our mutual love for each other.
Few people can understand the concept of unconditional love and support from another person . . . Even fewer have experienced it . . . I was one of the lucky ones!
All who knew Cheryl, knew how blessed I was to have shared her life . . . Cheryl was my everything… She was my life.
Little did Cheryl know that, 55 years ago, she was walking down the aisle with the luckiest young man in the world!
We've walked side-by-side ever since . . . Until now.
Cheryl made our house a Home . . . And now, it's only a house again . . . Only colder and without joy.
Cheryl taught me that when a man is grieving and sheds tears, it's not a lack of strength when his tears flow . . . It's suffering overwhelming loss that forces their flow.
Cheryl lived her life with compassion and understanding when faced with conflict . . . She always believed in the good in people.
When caught in the midst of turmoil, Cheryl always sought calm, without judgment or anger, when circumstances became overwhelming to others.
When Cheryl and I were faced with personal grief and loss, we were always able to find shared comfort . . . Now I feel alone and overwhelmed without her.
Cheryl's physical pain is finally gone . . . She's gained Heaven and I've lost my Angel.
My only comfort is knowing that she is reunited with our son, Ryan . . .
I hope they're Dancing in Heaven . . . Until I can join them there.
Cheryl is survived by a loving husband, 2 sons, 13 grand children and 4 great grandchildren.
