Mr. Richard Layton "Rick" Greene, 61, of Richmond, passed away on Thursday, June 24, 2021.
He was born in Fairbanks, Alaska on September 12, 1959 to Jacqueline Lankford Eversole and the late James Greene. Rick grew up in the Broadway Christian Church in Lexington, where for at time he served as the sound technician. He was the owner and operator of Rick Greene's Appliances Service in Lexington. Rick was a talented musician and was the former owner of Strip Sound, a company that provided sound tech services for well known artists in the music industry.
Survivors include: his wife, Melanie Eversole Greene, his mother, Jacqueline Eversole; one son, Christopher Layton Greene; three daughters, Elisabeth Greene King (Logan), Madison Alexandra Greene Olivet (Sal), and Samantha Caroline Greene; one brother, James D. Greene, Jr. (Diane); one sister, Victoria Chapman Crump (Phillip); one sister-in-law, Alice McInturf Greene; four grandchildren, Ashton King, Blake King, Camdyn King, and Darbeigh King; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by: one brother, Kenneth Greene.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, July 3, 2021, at the First Christian Church, 412 W. Main St., Richmond, with Dr. Phil Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery.
There will be a live-stream of the service available on our website beginning at 11:00 AM, on Saturday.
Visitation will be 4:00 - 8:00 PM on Friday, at the church.
Pallbearers will be: Sal Olivet, Logan King, Christopher Greene, Jim Greene, Jeff Eversole, Josh Eversole.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Jeff Kersey, Bill Spaulding, Tony Lilly, Jimmy Mawyer, and Jimmy Shane Ward and Paul Osborne.
The Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, W. Main St., Richmond, is in charge of the arrangements.
