Glen Thomas Francis, 82, of Longview, died March 2, 1998, at a local nursing home.

He was born March 23, 1915, in Houston, Mo., to Frank and Ollie (Beatty) Francis, and moved to the local area from Chino Valley, Ariz., in 1987.

Mr. Francis retired in 1977 after 20 years on the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad, where he was an engine foreman. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He enjoyed traveling.

A son, Phillip Francis, died in 1975.

Survivors include his wife, Leah Francis, at home; two daughters, Carolyn Francis of Lakewood, Colo., and Anita Bagwell of Fort Worth, Texas; a stepson, Richard Wilson of Longview; two stepdaughters, Nancy Roberts of Tacoma and Polly Fraser of Kelso; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

A private family service will be held. Interment will take place in Lakewood, Colo., under direction of Columbia Funeral Service in Longview.
