Cecile Claudette Coleman Johnson, 84, a resident of Morgan City, passed away on Saturday night June 26, 2021 at her residence in Morgan City, Louisiana.

She was born on October 11, 1936, in Lafayette, La, the daughter of John Pharr Coleman and Edna Marie Desormeaux.

Cecile was a loving and devoted mother who spent most of her life raising her five children. She loved to sew and crochet and made all her daughters' Easter and Christmas dresses. She was a great cook who provided countless delicious meals for her family and extended family every week for many years. She enjoyed playing with her grandchildren.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her four daughters, Stephanie Patterson of Lafayette, Cynthia Sampey of Lafayette, Traci Connor and husband Mike of Morgan City, Allison Williams and husband Wendell of Morgan City, and one son, Shane Johnson and wife Daniela of Houston, TX; one sister, Marjorie Coleman Brooks; eight grandchildren, Jason Sampey, Joanie Patterson, Eileen Arceneaux, Michael Ross, Joshua Sampey, Jessica Ross, John Ross, and Bennett Johnson; four great grandchildren, Landon Arceneaux, Cambrenn Ross, Franky Pearce IV, Colston Ross, and Travis Pearce; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Cecile is preceded in death by her parents, John Pharr Coleman and Edna Marie Desormeaux; brothers, Frank Coleman, John P. Coleman, Jr., Joe Coleman, Paul Coleman, Patrick "Buddy" Theriot, sisters, Roberta Coleman, Rita Rose Coleman, Mildred Coleman Dore, Dorothy Coleman Avant, Winnibell Coleman Salazar, Carita Coleman Hooper, and Jocelyn Coleman Touchet.

Cecile will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery in Morgan City, La.
