Obituary of Troy Brown
PELL CITY - Funeral Service for Troy Brown, age 89, will be held Sunday, November 3 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cook Springs Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Church. Mr. Brown passed away Thursday, October 31, 2019. He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter & Era Brown; sister, Bobbie England; brothers, Roy & Mack Brown. He is survived by his wife, Libbie Brown; daughter, Susan Lowery Grandson, Trey Sean (Chihiro) Lowery; brothers, Wayne (Marva) Brown, Gary (Dena) Brown; sisters, Edna Polk, Melba Abrams, Polly (Harold) Griffin; sister-in-law, Dixie Bauder; many nieces & nephews. He taught Sunday School for over 50 years and served as a deacon and on the building committee at Cook Springs Baptist Church. He was a Mason and a Korean War Veteran. He served as a part-time State Trooper for many years. The family would like to give a special thanks to Northside Medical Center and Doctors Russell and Helms, also to St. Vincent's Home Health and Hospice. A very special thank you to Libby Carroll and Kayla Calhoun. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital.
