Christopher Mathis of Zephyrhills, Florida passed away on Monday, June 21, 2021. Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 5604 Brown Street, Zephyrhills, Florida with Pastor Gregory Mathis, officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens, Dade City, Florida. MASKS ARE REQUIRED.

Mr. Mathis was a native of Pasco County, Florida and was raised in Zephyrhills. He attended private school at Grace Christian Academy and completed high school in 2004 at Zephyrhills High School where he was a member of the Bulldogs football team.

Christopher was born on December 25, 1985 to his parents, Christopher Mathis, Sr. and Dorrice Mathis. He was a member of Miracle Temple COGIC all of his life and was baptized at an early age. His favorite bible verses for comfort were found in the Book of Psalms.

Growing up he temporarily relocated to Georgia with his father to assist in running the Mathis family's second farm. He enjoyed the farming life but was equally happy when they relocated back to Pasco County, Florida and continued farming work there with the family. Chris loved life and lived it to the fullest. Over the years he built many friendships and was loved for his humorous and joking demeanor. He was a true joy.

Christopher was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jesse Tucker, Sr.; uncle, Marvin Tucker; and cousin, Jamaal Tucker.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories, his two loving and devoted children, daughter, Timmeya Mathis and son, Zavion Mathis of Zephyrhills, FL; his loving and devoted parents, mother, Dorrice Mathis of Brandon, Florida and father, Christopher Mathis, Sr. of Zephyrhills, Florida; sister, Latrina Tucker of Riverview, Florida; like a brother, Herbert Person; grandparents, Jessie Beasley of Tampa, Florida and Henry Mathis (Margaret) of Zephyrhills, Florida; uncles, Gregory Mathis, Sr. (Carlotta) of Zephyrhills, Florida, Stanley Mathis (Antoinette) of Georgia, Jesse Tucker Sr. (Jimeta) of Dade City, Florida and Melvin Tucker of Dade City, Florida; aunts, Debra Ferguson (Lee) of Macon, Georgia, Mary Joy (Vince) of Riverview, Florida, Stephanie Tucker of Brandon, FL, Jackie Ray (Horace), Bobbie Brooks (Adam), Geneva Penix (Mark) of Dade City, FL and Kara Mathis of Zephyrhills, FL; special nieces, Sherrice Smith and Carliyah Albury; nephews, Carneil Albury, Ashington Martin and Ashaud Martin; best friend, Shawn Stewart; special family friend, Arlene Wilson; and a host of close and loving cousins, relatives and friends.

The remains will repose from 9:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 5604 Brown Street, Zephyrhills, Florida.
