Kendra La'Shon Taylor was born to Kevin N. Taylor and Cheryl A. Taylor on May 16, 1978 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She attended Park Avenue Christian School, Garcia Elementary, Tom Browne Junior High School and graduated from Foy H Moody High School. Her post high school attainment included Prairie View A&M University and Lone Star College where she became a paralegal. She furthered her vocational pursuits also by became a Certified Wedding and Event Planner. Kendra accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age under the leadership of her uncle, Rev. J.R. Miller. She served in the children's choir and the youth ministry and grew to be an active participant in various ministries of the Friendship Baptist Church. She served as the church secretary under Pastor J. R. Miller and Pastor Kevin L. Pullam. Upon moving to Houston Kendra united with The Refreshing Church under the leadership of Rev. John Murray and became an active member serving on the Media Ministry Team until her health would no longer allow her to serve. Kendra was also employed by established law firms in Corpus Christi, Texas and the Houston area as a paralegal. She dedicated herself to exemplary employmentship in producing a quality work ethic for herself. Her mantra was "if you going to do it, do it right." She worked faithfully until health challenges no longer permitted. Kendra was a devoted mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend. Always assisting in organizing family and friends' functions and volunteering her talents by way of decorating and/or cooking something for the occasion. She was talented in transforming an ordinary room into one of elegance and beauty. She possessed a creative flare for whatever her hands set forth to construct. Kendra is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents John Taylor Sr. and Doris Taylor, uncles- John Taylor Jr., Willie T. Little and James E. Miller, an aunt, Thelma Mitchem and great-grandmother Mary E. Watson. Her legacy will forever be cherished by her daughter Kierstyn N. Andrews, her son Khambrel L. Claxton, her parents Cheryl A. Taylor (Houston, TX) Kevin N. Taylor Sr. (Bonita) Baltimore, MD a sister Michaela Taylor (Baltimore, MD) and two brothers Kevin N. Taylor Jr. (Houston, TX) and Avery Taylor (Baltimore, MD) grandmother Johnnie M. Miller (Corpus Christi, TX) Special Friend James Conley Jr. (Houston, TX) Godmother Pamela Harris (Dallas, TX); and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Kendra will forever be in the hearts of all who loved her.
